Harry Prudhomme & Eva Orton
Brother and Sister Joined In Loving Memory
Eva and Harry were the two children born to George and Marguerite (Del Ponte) Prudhomme. They grew up in a small home on N. 9th Street in San Jose that was built by Marguerite's brother, Charles Del Ponte. They were third generation Californians and grew up spending time with their extended family including relatives from George's and Marguerite's families that were established local wine makers, fruit growers and cattle ranchers.
Despite their humble beginnings, both Eva and Harry attended college and had long, productive careers before retiring. They were both active in retirement and blessed with longevity. Harry passed away on August 23, 2019, at the age of 95. Eva lived to celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends, and passed away on October 22, 2021, at the age of 100.
In their lives they survived the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, the 60's, and the Internet. Eva and Harry disagreed on many areas of politics and policy, but they grew up surrounded by family where people took care of each other. To them, family was everything and they loved each other deeply despite their differences. Now they are together again.
